About

Spawned in the southern Denver suburbia of Littleton, Colorado, "Fulcrum" has a dangerously addictive combination of records, style, and a live show that always leaves the audience begging for more. Their music is all about the melodic guitar sound that flows and contrasts powerfully with the bass lines, driven by the powerful syncopated drums that run behind them. The trio has developed their own specific style with influence from many musical greats such as Incubus, 311, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. With much diversity, it ranges from fast and catchy to slowed down acoustic melodies, with all sorts of kicks and chops in between. "We try to write music that you can listen to and be taken to another place and feel the way we do," states Jason, "because after all, that's what music is all about." The name 'Fulcrum' comes from a poem songwriter Jason Marino wrote about a theory of social self actualization. The philosophy demonstrates one must hold a present balance of all emotional and intellectual devices in life, similar to how a fulcrum balances a lever. This is a common theme in the lyrics to their songs as the band has been through a lot and only writes music with feeling and purpose. The message behind the lyrics is often regarding a deep social or emotional point, but could be a simple attractive verse about school, drugs, or love. The band has matured in the time gone while staying fresh writing more and more with tons of potential left in the tank. They have been making their name in the Denver scene playing shows at hotspots such as Rock Island, the Hi-Dive, the Marquis Theater, LIFEspot, and JC's Underground. They sold a song to the Altitude Network, a major television channel in the Midwestern states, as theme music for a Saturday afternoon television show. Fulcrum, in addition to many headlining gigs, has shared the bill with many larger acts such as DORK and Maris the Great, but unfortunately have a tendency to steal the show. They have tons of studio experience as they produce their own tracks, but have made many appearances in Colorado studios like as GlobalSound producing hits such as "Antic Romantic" and "Note to Self". Fulcrum is a band that is cooperative to work with and very focused on their music and new ways to reach fans and new audiences. Dominating every genre they attack, they have the music, appeal, and ambition to excel and are more than ready to take the next steps. With the release of their debut album "Which Way Is Up", they have increased their music catalog to 22 songs and are always ready for a good jam track. That combined with a growing number of shows around Colorado and a large and growing fan base, Fulcrum has their eyes fixed on the top of the mountain and will keep climbing to get there.
