ARTIST - Mario Spinetti

Mario Spinetti grew up in the backstage wings of opera houses, which led him to arrange, direct, and perform musical compositions for major TV networks as well as taking a solo bow at Carnegie Hall before he was 16. Critics often invoke Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, and Freddie Mercury when they try to characterize his voice. Ultimately though, most listeners agree that his instrument, style, and material are completely unique -- that his "avant-pop" is something substantial, waiting only to be discovered. Both a John Lennon and Bertelsmann songwriting award winner, Mario also holds title to "the second most original song of all time" on GarageBand.com, with his vocal opus "Delirious," which has been featured repeatedly on the Fox TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" since it's release last winter. Mario is currently working on his second record, which is scheduled for release later this winter.
